DJ Clive Bean

Clive’s music career started in 1994 with his involvement in his High School events in the East Rand Township, Vosloorus. This was highly inspired by his collection of mix-tapes which included the greats like Ganyani, Tokzen and Bob Mabena. His musical taste at the time covered a wide range of styles: Hip Hop, Funk and more specifically House music. This led him to a career in the South African Music Production and DJ Industries in which he has been a recognized player for the past 15 years. In 1999 he joined Suga Trax (a vinyl and dj’s accessory store), which was renamed Soul Candi Records. Clive has for years conceptualized and Co-Ordinated his own events, “Home Cookin’ Xclusiv”. He was also commissioned by Levi®’s to compile a series of South African Afro/Deep House music, for stores all over South Africa. As part of Soul Candi’s A&R team, Clive compiled for International and National Dance Music Compilation Cd’s. Clive now also combines his career as a professional DJ with teaching. Clive is currently the Head Dj Lecturer at the Boston City Campus (Soul Candi Division), in Johannesburg. He has been, to date, employed by Soul Candi Music Group for the past 12 years. He has also, since 2008, been gigging in Europe (Berlin & Hamburg > 2009, Switzerland – Sierra, Sion and Luasanne > 2012-13 & Amsterdam > 2012-13) not forgetting the USA > 2010-12.
