DJ Cndo
Born Sindiswe Zungu 1984 in the beauty of the great Uthukela River in Mandeni and moved to the bright City lights of Durban to avoid a 45 minute long drive after enrolling into Mangosuthu Technikon. It was after settling in at Tertiary that she felt she needed a challenge outside academics. It didn’t take much pondering for her to realize her love for music; she secretly fell in love with then growing music genre, House-Music a love that introduced her to the art of Dj’ng.
After realizing that she wanted to spin discs for a living she then took a gigantic step towards realizing her dream by enrolling at Durban’s Finest Dj Academy where her wits came in handy as she defied all stereotypes by capturing the vital aspect of the art in a short space of time. Her mixing was parallel to none in her class with a blend of ambition and passion that drove her into playing at campus parties and formal functions.
In 2006 a newly launched Gagasi FM picked then leaders of the new school Dj Tira and Sox to co-host a 6-10 Friday night slot called the “G-SESSIONS” she became a regular feature on the show dropping hot mixes every Friday night leaving no room for disappointment while earning herself a loyal radio fan base in the process.
The year 2006 was a big year for the vibrant Dj, she recorded her first official song with Tzozo and Professor for Gagasi FM’s compilation, she worked with then men of the moment T’zozo EN Professor as the duo had a national smash hit under their belt titled “Woz’Durban”
DJ Cndo’s charisma and hard work got the school talking after her first Dj stint at a campus party, where she Impressed many and was quickly becoming a pupils favorite disc jockey; she now could be found behind the decks at all school events due to popular demand.
In 2007 she was signed by Dj Tira, making her the first lady of Afrotainment they didn’t waste time and released her debut album the same year titled “The First Lady Of House Vol.1” becoming the first South African female Dj to release a compilation album which received overwhelming reception from the music loving community. Lady Of House Vol.1 received a Metro FM nomination for (Best Compilation) a category where she found herself in the same pot as the likes of Dj Sbu and the legendary Oskido.
