Jenny Crwys-Williams

Jenny Crwys-Williams

Jenny Crwys-Williams is the former host of the daily afternoon show on Radio 702 and Cape Talk, covering current affairs to food, lifestyles to in-depth interviews with prominent personalities, both international and local, to battles and books. Now heard on KayaFM Saturday from 9-11.

Jenny Crwys-Williams hosted a talk show on Radio 702 for 25 years – and still runs the radio station’s Thursday bookshow on the Redi Thlabi Show (heard in both Gauteng and Cape Town). With keen and diverse interests, from history, literature and conservation, to the arts, archaeology, architecture and current affairs, she makes a delightful and entertaining MC or panel discussion chairperson.

Still significantly involved in the book world, she acts as host to visiting authors and hosts author and book events to both public and corporate audiences.

A skilled interviewer, Jenny is known for her humour and lightness of touch, and has been face to face with hundreds of Celebrities and ‘real people too’ from all backgrounds; from President Bill Clinton to Archbishop Desmond Tutu, from Meryl Streep to Malcolm Gladwell and from Tony Bennett to palaeontologist Lee Berger.

Her early background was in writing (for international publications) and she has contributed to most South African magazines both as writer and occasionally as editor.

And her skills are notable in the range of books she has published over 20 years: ‘I Want Love in South Africa Dear God’ to ‘South African Despatches’ and ‘In the Words of Nelson Mandela’. She is also the compiler of three Dictionaries of South African Quotations.
