Steers celebrates 600th restaurant in South Africa

Steers, captured the imagination of thousands of guests as they celebrated their 600th restaurant opening recently, at their ‘#600Flames themed event held at the Fireman’s Tavern in Johannesburg.
The celebration of this major milestone included Famous Brands guests, members of the media and social influencers like ThickLeeyonce, Lindo Sithole, Nadia Herbst and Katlego Ncala. The festivities were held at Gauteng’s firefighters’ training ground in Modderfontein, where a “burn-out” of a 9m x 7m wooden flame structure was the focal point of the chilly evening. Flame-grilled flavour has been synonymous with Steers since the 1960s, and this massive iteration of it lit up by a 1,000-degree fire in a visual spectacle that kept guests warm, as they enjoyed good music, great food and flame-grilled vibes.
This special occasion marks Steers’s momentous growth nationally. It’s a proudly South African brand and a major employer. But it is also the same legendary brand that has created and participated in lifestyle initiatives like Survivor SA, Rage Festival, Varsity Rugby Shield and popular favourite: ‘Wacky Wednesdays’. All keeping it top of mind amongst all, especially young South Africans and seeing it win the Best Burger award in Best of Joburg for the past 20 years. This, as well as meaningful social responsibility collaborations with Mzansi’s finest music duo and unearthing aspiring talent in the creative space.
The #600Flames celebration was enhanced by the creative and authentic connection built during the event – including food, drinks and activities, all rolled out to recognise this special occasion. On this evening, flame-grilled never tasted better!
