Amon Mokoena

Amon Mokoena is the driving force and voice behind the energetic midday radio show, “The Great Escape (TGE)” on METRO FM (Mon-Fri 12pm-3pm) as well as “The Chill Factor”, Sundays (12pm-3pm). Prior to this, his “wicked” sense of humour was waking up South Africa on the station’s Saturday breakfast show, “The AM Rise” (6am to 10am). A natural born radio talent and public speaker, Amon Mokoena has done little else since first stepping behind the microphone. During his career, he’s had the pleasure of being on the airwaves at some of the country’s leading radio stations, such as Motsweding FM, 94.7, Highveld Stereo and 99.2 YFM. Amon is an all-round nice guy, has a genuine joie de vivre and thrives under the pressure of the limelight. He has a Bachelor of Arts (Communication) degree from the University of the North-West and is fluent in Setswana and English. He’s also a sought-after MC, professional voice over artist, club DJ and over weekends you’ll find Amon at various gigs countrywide.
