Nhlanhla Ngidi
Mr Nhlanhla Ngidi was appointed Director-General in June 2010. He is a qualified attorney by profession and served as a professional assistant at Siwendu, Ngakane and Partners.
In 1987 he represented the ANC youth section at the United Nations Special Committee against Apartheid and in 1992 he was an observer of the general elections in the United Kingdom on behalf of the ANC in preparation for the 1994 general elections in South Africa.
Between 1993 and 1994 he served as the regional elections coordinator for KwaZulu-Natal and from 1994 to 2000 Mr Ngidi served as a member of the KwaZulu Natal Provincial Legislature. Other career experience includes appointments as the head of the crime analysis division at the Directorate of Special Operations in the National Prosecuting Authority. Between 2009 and 2010 he worked as a regional executive manager of the South African Social Security Agency in KwaZulu-Natal before joining the Office of the Premier in KwaZulu-Natal as the Director-General.
