Winfred Oppong-Amoako

Winfred Oppong-Amoako is a sought-after business adviser, speaker, executive coach and author. He speaks at conferences, focusing mainly on leadership and doing business in Africa.

He is also a visiting lecturer at Wits Business School (WBS) and the University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business (GSB). He is a contributing writer for publications such as G20, Global Biodefense, Africa Science News, DFNS Net and World News. His research interests include the potential of SMMEs and African markets, and cultural intelligence for doing business in Africa

He has studied, lived and worked in over forty countries in Africa, Asia and Europe, including Ghana, South Africa, Singapore, the UK and the USA. His passion is to share stories and information – with Africans and the rest of the world – about the state of Africa’s business and leadership potential.

With over twenty-two years’ experience, Winfred has coached and advised entrepreneurs, CEOs, boards of directors, and leaders in government and non-governmental institutions on strategies, business growth and leadership development in Africa. Winfred is a member of the Institute of Business Advisors Southern Africa (IBASA), Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (COMENSA) and International Coaches Register (ICR), with a voting seat on the International Certification Council (ICC).

Winfred’s first book “Upgrade to Africa Business Class: Why you should expand your business into Africa” was on the list of 2017 Top Reads in Sawubona, Africa’s leading in-flight magazine. His latest book “How to Succeed in the African Market: A Guide for 2020s for Businesspeople and Investors” achieved best-seller status in the first month of its release.

He is the founder of an accredited executive training and business advising company with offices in Africa, Europe and the USA.

Winfred’s entrepreneurial skills and love of knowledge first showed themselves at primary school when he started making and selling ice cream to earn money to attend extra classes. This entrepreneurial drive and discipline has spurred him on to pioneer various ventures.
