Mlondolozi Mokoena’s Educational background includes qualifications in Media Studies and Paralegal Studies both completed at Boston City Campus and Business College.
Mlondolozi Mokoena is a dedicated, passionate and hardworking individual who always seeks a new challenge in growing his business and ensuring that young and black upcoming writers benefit from their creativity. His aim is not only running a successful business but also to make sure that the country has young people who are living up to their dreams and potential in the creative fraternity. Mlondolozi believes young people are exceptional authors and they have the capability of writing books that will impact, influence and inspire the lives of many people across the country and continent. His passion for literature in the form of storytelling and book publishing has grown significantly as he has worked with quite a number of young authors who have a passion of publishing books and being published authors. As a published author himself he has always believed and supported young writers to get their books published, that’s where his publishing company idea was born. Asante Books Publishers was founded with the intention of assisting young writers to get their work published and distributed.
80% of the books he has published in his company are all written by young black people , whose books are also written in the African context. In 2022, he won a competition for youth entrepreneurship by Absa Bank. This year he is currently nominated for the Founder of the Year Africa Award 2023. This truly shows that he’s committed to his work and nothing can stop him from doing what he’s passionate about.
To assist upcoming authors he holds writing competitions and online webinars for free to cater for those who wish to publish their books.
He has left his professional career to pursue his business and passion for publishing books and telling stories written by young people from all walks of life. That on its own shows how driven and passionate he is about his work.
